Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn, an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role was that of Skyler on the AMC drama Breaking Bad. She won the Primetime Emmy Awards to recognize Outstanding Leading Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for 2013 and 2014. Other roles she has played are Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1968 Anna Gunn fell in love with acting in the Preparatory School she attended before her family moved to Ohio in the late 1970's. She studied theatre at Northwestern University, and spent one term at British American Drama Academy. Anna had a brief stint working in Chicago the theatre before moving to television and film. In 1992 Anna got her first major role as Arden in the 29th episode of Down the Shore. The actress continued to make appearances as guest stars on a number of television series and movies, including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue through the mid 90's when she appeared in a recurring role as Jean Ward in The Practice. The role was played by Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons during the 2000s. Skyler was her role as Martha Bullock in Breaking Bad. In addition, she was a part of the Deadwood film as well as Sully. Gunn also took to the stage in a David Schwimmer directed production Sex With Strangers. She also had a role in Numbered Day, a podcast consisting of four audio-based plays. The love story between Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the narrative in Breaking Bad with the strained tension in their relationship, and its eventual demise arguably echoing the same storyline of Walter White's last years of life.
